What is an FRP Water Slide? Breakdown of Core Material Struct

FRP stands for Fiber-Reinforced Plastic. The FRP used specifically for water slides is formed by compounding three core structural layers:

1.  Surface Layer: Weather-resistant Gel Coat
   Utilizes isophthalic, food-grade gel coat formulated with UV, chlorine, and saltwater/salt-spray resistance. The surface is ultra-smooth—free of burrs or pores—and acts as a barrier against pool disinfectants and sun exposure while serving as the medium for the slide's vibrant colors. It complies with the national standard GB/T 18168 for water amusement facilities; all edges and corners are rounded and smoothed to prevent scratching riders' skin. 
2. Middle Layer: Fiberglass-Reinforced Structural Layer
   Formed via a hand lay-up process combining multiple layers of alkali-free fiberglass cloth with unsaturated polyester resin, resulting in a lightweight structure with high tensile and compressive strength. For the same dimensions, the FRP slide weighs only one-quarter of a stainless steel slide, thereby reducing the load on the steel support framework and significantly lowering civil engineering costs. 
3. Inner Layer: Seepage-proof Layer
   A thickened resin barrier prevents water seepage, delamination, and blistering. It does not soften or bulge after prolonged immersion in water, ensuring stable performance in environments such as seaside hot springs and saltwater parks.

Supporting Components: The slide assembly includes hot-dip galvanized anti-corrosion steel pipe supports, non-slip ladders, and safety guardrails; the entire system has passed load-bearing safety tests.
